So it’s been an interesting week, with a lot of heavy lessons.
Caeley is going to be baptized on Friday at 7! She has her interview tomorrow with our zone leader, Elder White. I will be on exchanges with him so that he can interview her tomorrow during our lesson!
And Alexis came to church again with her Grandpa! We also had a lesson with Autumn, Alexis, and Bob at the church this last week which went really well. We found out Bob is reading the Book of Mormon again! So awesome! Now we just need to get Autumn to church.
And we had two super rough lessons. The first was with our investigator Donald. We have been teaching him for a while and he hasn’t been trying to quit smoking or any of the other stuff he is addicted to so we basically told him until he went an entire week without it, we couldn’t teach him. We will see what happens there.
And then for the lesson with Allen. Oh man, it was crazy! So here is Allen’s story. He lost his job, and this super nice lady who is a member of the church let him move in to her home. Then the missionaries started teaching him. But he won’t come to church and won’t quit coffee and smoking. So last night we had a very blunt lesson with him. We basically gave him an ultimatum. Elder Patterson said, “Do you believe this is all true?” Allen: “Yes.” Elder Patterson, “So then you believe that this church can get you to heaven?” Allen, “Yes.” Elder Patterson, “So then will you give up smoking to be baptized into Christ’s church?” And Allen said, “No I will not!” So that was the end of that teaching situation haha.
I just want to bear my testimony that we need the spirit to guide us in this life. He will help us with absolutely anything we need! The Holy Ghost is proof that our Father in Heaven loves us and cares about the small and simple aspects of our lives.
